On the 7th of May 2019, the German Ayurveda associations and committed Ayurvedic institutions active in education, spas/clinics, products/manufacturers, research, and media came together to officially establish ADAVED, an umbrella organization for Ayurveda in Germany, which had been envisioned by many Ayurveda experts for a long time.

Lothar Pirc, CEO of the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre Bad Ems, was elected as member of the board as representative of the German Ayurveda Association (DGA).

The inspiration for founding a German Ayurveda umbrella organization goes back to a meeting at the Indian Embassy in Berlin 2016. Many committed representatives of German Ayurveda there discussed, at the suggestion of and together with the Indian ambassador, how Ayurveda could gain greater recognition in Germany. Thus, the idea to create an umbrella organization for Ayurveda was born. The first meeting was then held on April 24, 2017 at the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre Bad Ems. durchgeführt.

ADAVED’s mission

“The goals of this umbrella organization for Ayurveda in Germany are the promotion, dissemination, integration, and recognition of Ayurveda as a comprehensive medical system in Germany. To get Ayurveda recognized in Germany as a traditional health system, and to promote and spread it, that is the purpose of ADAVED.”
