Teacher for Transcendental Meditation

Lothar Pirc

As a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation® (TM®) program, my occupation and my calling are one and the same. After more than a year of intensive full-time training, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi personally trained me in Switzerland and qualified me as a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program on March 2, 1978. Since that time, I have had the privilege of instructing several thousand people in the TM technique. My course participants have been people of all ages and occupations, as well as from diverse cultures and religions. I taught the Transcendental Meditation technique to students, teachers and school directors, craftsmen and artists. I also instructed doctors, engineers, priests, ministers, notable professors, top managers, TV and other celebrities, and even a soccer league trainer. In addition, numerous members of parliament, government ministers and ambassadors of various countries as well as an acting head of state were among those I instructed.

Again and again it’s impressive witnessing the positive changes that the course participants make during the first days of practicing meditation due to the new experience of inner unbounded awareness. Each time it happens, I am once again grateful that I have been given the opportunity to pursue this occupation.

Meditation and study time in the meditation academy

For a total of five years from 1982 to 1988, I lived a secluded life in a meditation academy on the Rhine River and later in The Netherlands. During that time I meditated many hours each day and I studied the Vedic knowledge jointly with an international group comprising 300 men under the personal guidance of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
