Courses to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique are frequently held at the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Bad Ems as well as in hundreds of TM centers around the world. You will find current dates on request.
The Transcendental Meditation technique is taught by certified teachers through a systematic, easy-to-learn seven-step program of instruction.
The seven steps for
independent practice
Step 1: Introductory Talk
A vision of possibilities through the program of Transcendental Meditation: Enhancing mental potential, health, social relationships, and promoting inner and outer peace. (1 hour)
Step 2: Preparatory Talk
The mechanics of the TM technique – how it works, why it’s easy to learn and effortless to practice, how it’s different from other forms of meditation, and the origins of the technique. (45 minutes)
Step 3: Personal Interview
A private meeting with a certified TM teacher. (10–15 minutes)
Step 4: Personal Instruction
Instruction in the TM technique with a certified TM teacher. (1–2 hours)
Step 5: First Day of Checking
Verifying correctness of the practice and further instruction. (1–2 hours)
Step 6: Second Day of Checking
Understanding the mechanics of the Transcendental Meditation technique. (1–2 hours)
Step 7: Third Day of Checking
The understanding of higher states of consciousness. (1–2 hours)
Note: Steps four through seven take place on consecutive days.
A follow-up meeting will take place after about 10-14 days.
The courses are usually held one-on-one or in groups. In addition to the course, the program includes a checking of your meditation with your teacher to verify that your meditation practice is optimal.
After completion of the seven-step course, you are able to practice the Transcendental Meditation technique on your own. If desired, you may participate in advanced courses.
